Alcohol

Are you considering bringing champagne, a beer, or any kind alcohol to your elopement? Here's what you need to know.

Bringing alcohol to your elopement

  • I get that alcohol (beer, champagne, shots, etc.) can be a fun thing to share together and incorporate into photos. However, alcohol is either NOT permitted or highly regulated at many parks and outdoor spaces.

  • Open containers and glass containers are prohibited at all Boulder Open Space and Mountain Parks.

  • If you want to share a beverage together, consider something non-alcoholic, like a favorite soda. If you would really like to incorporate alcohol into your elopement, please let me know so I can give you information on whether or not it is permitted at the location where we will be shooting.

  • Champagne pops: Champagne pops are really fun. However, they go against Leave No Trace policies (you can learn more about Leave No Trace here). The sticky, sugary champagne residue left on the ground can attract insects and wildlife. I do NOT allow champagne pops at elopements unless we are on private property (for example, your own backyard). If you would like to do a champagne pop, you can get sparkling water and fill an empty bottle with the water to shake and spray.

  • If you have questions about alcohol, please let me know! These same sort of guidelines go for things like weed and smoking as well.

Final Notes

Alcohol can be a tricky subject in public land and outdoor spaces. If you have questions, let me know!
